A healthy and sober reunion with the Cross of Jesus:
“For the preaching of THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but TO US who are saved it is the POWER of GOD” (1 Cor 1: 18).
The Cross is POWER to us.
When I saw this picture, I said, I don’t just want to know “about” that power– I want and need that POWER, HIS POWER, NOW!!!!!
That power was effective for us yesterday, and it is available to you right now, every minute of the day.
Romans 6 and Colossians 3 provide great insight into this power of the cross for us.
Let’s acknowledge the power of the cross of Jesus again.
The Cross is also the WISDOM of God for us:
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
While others stumble over the cross and others reject it as foolish, we who embrace it have been saved and delivered by it!!! We are preserved and kept saved by it!!! We are members of the exalted Christ-Life Family because of it.
And we will be in heaven because of it!
The cross also provides daily VICTORY for us:
Jesus death was our death (the old nature, body of sins); and His resurrection was our resurrection (the new us (Romans 6).
So it is true: “Since we are in Christ, the old has been removed, and behold, the New Us has Arrived- and now all these new things about us and through us keep unfolding (2 Cor 5:17).
The Cross of Jesus and our union with Him makes this real to us and enables us to walk this out.
Sometimes, many times, we need a REUNION with the Cross.
Let us feast on the power, wisdom and victory of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus today and allow it to take more root in our walk.
