Some things are worth wrestling for:
Here’s a picture of Jake wrestling for the
possession of this rope:
image1 (1)While doing this with him the other day, I imagined that rope representing my spiritual purpose in Christ. And all of a sudden I got extremely tenacious and said, “You’re not taking this from me!” And I held fast and overcame. I was the one standing with the rope in hand. Whahoo ??

1. Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10: 10).

No doubt, the devil comes with his devices, temptations, diversions and distractions to attempt to snuff out our relationship and closeness to Jesus (the Life of our life, the Light of our light).
If we haven’t been spending time with Jesus, who’s behind that?

We also need to remember that we were saved by God for a purpose in Him. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2: 10).

For certain, the devil comes with his devices, temptations, diversions and distractions to attempt to keep us from pursuing and walking in our spiritual purpose.

Think about it:
The devil doesn’t seek to wrestle from us such things as drugs, alcohol, porn, or other worldly things. No, he seeks to trip people up with those deadly things- to steal, kill and to destroy individuals, marriages, and families. He uses such things to keep people from finding and walking in their true identity, purpose and destiny.
The enemy of our souls seeks to put such things in our lives to keep us from Jesus and walking in our spiritual purpose. Have we made any swaps with the devil, letting him have our time with Jesus and our purpose in Him for what he offered in exchange?

If so, it’s time to wake up to that, and take back into our possession what Jesus died to give us- a rich relationship with God, and a very important role in His kingdom business with the new life He gave us.

My nephew, David, was down some points in his championship match awhile back.
With about 1 minute remaining and a determination to triumph, he pinned his opponent and became the victor…

Like I said earlier, some things are worth wrestling for- like your relationship with Jesus, your own victory He purchased for you, and your own purpose and destiny in Him as a member of His exalted Christ-Life Family.

It’s time to rise up and be the victor He died and rose again to make us be.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60: 1).
